The Process
Have something in mind? Explore how we can start with a concept and work to its completion.
-
Each piece starts with a conversation. How is this piece going to fit into your life? Lots of character or a more practical addition to your everyday?
We can start a discussion around these ideas, until we have something you are excited to bring home.
Design lead times vary based on the complexity of each commission and will be confirmed during the enquiry process.
-
My passion for natural materials plays a large role in material selection.
We can discuss the choice of using suppliers who re-purpose their timber that has had a story of it’s own, or we can acquire material from local sawmills that can trace it’s origin.
I predominantly work with Blackbutt, Tasmanian Oak, Messmate, Eucalyptus, and Australian Cypress.
-
Towards the end of the design process, if you decide to proceed, we'll confirm a production start date for your project. A 50% deposit is required to secure your place and to allow materials to be ordered for your commission.
Typical lead times of around 3-5 weeks, depending on complexity, although some projects can be completed sooner. If you have a specific deadline, I recommend getting in touch as early as possible.
-
Following the confirmation of completed work, the remaining 50% of the balance plus delivery fee will be required before the piece leaves the workshop.
Within the Melbourne district, we are more than happy to deliver ourselves to ensure no issues. If ordering from elsewhere please specify in the enquiry and we can find the best solution.
